Virginia is a healthcare policy expert. She combines deep hands-on field experience with a strong science background to develop health and science-related policy strategies.
She currently consults to the Pacific Vision Foundation, which provides free or low-cost eye surgery to indigent patients. She leads the company’s strategy for raising capital, and provides financial analysis. She also consults to Conversion Sound, a startup hearing aid company that markets devices in emerging economies.
Virginia previously worked in Pharma and Biotech firms. As a scientist at Pfizer, she discovered novel treatments for diabetes that led to Phase III clinical trials. She also integrated clinical and basic science to support pre-clinical and clinical trials for the company. As Head of Structural Biology for Thios Pharmaceuticals, she developed drug designs to treat graft rejection, inflammation, cancer, and infectious disease.
